Guilt-Free Snacks

We all know snacking can be a problem. We’re all guilty of it. Let’s be real though, who doesn’t love snacking? Sometimes all we need is a little fix to get us by and there’s nothing wrong with that. Except when you are trying to stay healthy and away from the vending machine. A lot of us will snack out of boredom and this is so common! We get bored = we get hungry. Simple as that. Maybe you’re bored at work or sitting at home watching TV and you can’t help but reach for a candy bar or the chip bag. A lot of our snacking is a result of stress or anxiety. In fact, we crave chocolate when we’re stressed because our body is lacking magnesium and surprisingly enough, chocolate has a reasonable amount of magnesium in it. Drinking water when you are stressed and craving chocolate will actually help hinder your want for it.

Some of us even snack at the beginning of our new diet. When you change your eating habits drastically, your body takes a while to adjust. It’s no surprise that when you go from eating whatever you want to just healthy foods, your body is going to think it’s still hungry and crave those pizzas and burgers. That’s when we’ve got to be strong, though, and overcome those cravings!

As a matter of fact, snacking is actually proven to help you maintain a lower BMI (body mass index). Healthy snacking of course, though. We’re not talking about the chips and candy bars. Nutritionists say that eating healthy snacks throughout your day increases your metabolism and helps to lower your BMI. So if we snack smarter, we are actually doing pretty darn well! Some people say it works better for them to eat 6 small meals a day and some say it’s better to eat 3 normal meals with 2 snacks in-between. It may take a while to figure out what works better for you and your body but once you do, snacking won’t seem like a bad thing anymore!

Lucky for you! We have created some satisfying AND healthy snacks to get you on the right path to healthy living! If you haven’t tried putting fresh herbs on your popcorn, you are seriously missing out! Our Herbed Garlic Parmesan Popcorn is something you have to try! Making popcorn from home is already much healthier because it doesn’t have all the butter and extra fats like the store bought ones do. Now, we know it sounds a little weird at first, but TRUST us! It will take your bland and boring popcorn to a whole new level! Plus, it adds a little nutritional value from the herbs! That’s a win-win.

Our Roasted Chickpeas have the perfect mix of fresh herbs to add some distinct flavor! These are so easy to make! And since its March Madness, we also have a reduced-calorie snack for you to enjoy while you watch the games that won’t break your diet. Baked Potato Chips. Ah-mazing! These have the salty and savory flavor we crave with a great crunch. This is an awesome healthy alternative to regular potato chips. You can eat these as a snack or pack them in your kid’s lunch as well!
