Make a simple syrup by combining the sugar and 2 cups of water in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Stir until sugar dissolves and let cool.
Pour lemon juice and remaining 4 cups of water in a large pitcher. Add 1 cup of simple syrup and taste. Add more in if desired and stir in mint leaves. Refrigerate for 1 hour, serve over ice, and enjoy!
