IT Project Coordinator

North Shore Living Herbs has a new and exciting opportunity and is looking to add an IT Project Coordinator to the team. In this role, you will be responsible for organizing and facilitating projects relating to the organization’s applications, data quality, and technological efficiencies.  As the IT Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for advising management on technology and how it can help the business perform better. Job Responsibilities

  • Initiates, coordinates, and enforces IT systems, policies, and procedures
  • Maintains organization’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies
  • Schedules upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems
  • Researches and implements new systems
  • Conducts system audits of technologies implemented
  • Evaluates user needs and system functionality and ensures that information and communications technology meet these needs
  • Offers users appropriate support and advice
  • Works with vendors to manage crisis situations
  • Uses and understands the organization’s applications and resources
  • Assists other departments in IT for applications as needed
  • Inventories, documents, and monitors IT equipment
  • Research and study organization goals, strategies, practices, and user projects
  • Recommend IT strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements
  • Evaluate technology risks to develop a network disaster recovery plan and backup procedures
  • Ensure standardization of applications (Office, Windows, etc.), equipment, and permissions/security
  • Set up new users
  • Terminate users
  • Create and maintain server permissions and file organization
  • Initiate and maintain EDI integration
  • Define and implement an IT budget
  • Evaluate existing IT vendors/service providers to ensure they are the best fit functionally and financially
  • Supports greenhouse IT
  • Manage security technology

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

  • This is full-time. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Education and/or Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field
  • Proven experience managing IT infrastructure and services
  • Finance systems experience, implementation experience a plus
  • Experience with accounting, inventory, and order entry software
  • Above average skills in Excel and report writing tools
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows software, including Server, Office, and Exchange
  • Understanding of database structures
  • Prior experience with production, bar codes and scanning, a plus
  • Experience with computer networks, network administration, and network installation
  • Management and leadership skills


  • Able to use accounting software, database user interface and query software, project management software
  • Able to conduct systems analysis
  • Microsoft Excel and Word expert
  • PowerPoint proficient
  • Detail oriented



  • Balance multiple projects at various stages
  • Prepare project proposals and present solutions to a room full of managers
  • Learn and become an expert in multiple software programs
  • Train employees on new policies, procedures, and software programs
  • Define areas for infrastructure improvement and design/recommend solutions

  • Keyboard use, pulling drawers, lifting papers <20 lbs.
